Boo Cheng Xuan

Boo Cheng Xuan is a Cyber Breach Counsel at Shearn Delamore & Co., specialising in data protection and privacy law, intellectual property law, and technology, media and telecommunications law. He advises clients on personal data protection compliance, cybersecurity breaches, technology-related regulatory matters, and intellectual property issues.

Cheng Xuan holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Liverpool, an LL.M in Environmental Law & Policy from University College London, and an LL.M in Bar Professional Training from City, University of London. He is a Barrister-at-Law of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018, and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2022.

He is a member of the Malaysian Bar, LAWASIA, and the Malaysia Middle Temple Alumni Association. He serves as Co‑Deputy Chairperson of the National Young Lawyers and Pupils Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council, and as a Committee Member of the Communications, Technology & Data Protection Committee of LAWASIA, the Emerging Lawyers Committee of LAWASIA, and the Legal Affairs Committee of ACCCIM. He has contributed to Halsbury's Laws of Malaysia, Chambers Global Practice Guides, ICLG, OneTrust DataGuidance, Practical Law, and the DLA Piper Global Trademark Guide.
