Nik Azila Shuhada Nik Abdullah is a Partner at Shearn Delamore & Co., practicing in the Dispute Resolution group, with a focus on shipping and maritime law, land acquisition, and criminal advisory and defence. She is experienced in all aspects of civil and commercial litigation, both in court and arbitration, handling complex disputes involving commercial, contract, and corporate matters.

Nik's shipping and maritime practice encompasses both wet and dry shipping work, including arrest and release of ships and cargo, marine cargo and hull claims, charterparty disputes, ship‑to‑ship transfer licensing, maritime casualties, salvage and collision claims, detention of vessels, marine environment and regulatory issues, ship building and registration, maritime liens and mortgages, and maritime arbitration. She advises a diverse range of clients including shipowners, cargo interests, charterers, financial institutions, P&I clubs, shipyards, oil and gas multinationals, and port authorities. She also oversees transactional matters such as vessel registration, sale and purchase, and ship mortgages.

Nik also conducts land‑based disputes and compulsory land acquisition inquiries before the Land Administrator under the Land Acquisition Act 1960, undertakes Land Reference hearings and judicial reviews before the High Courts and appellate Courts, and appears before State Appeal Boards on planning permission hearings. She frequently advises on regulatory compliance relating to anti‑money laundering, anti‑corruption, and securities legislation, and represents clients in proceedings brought by the Attorney General's Chambers and the Securities Commission. She also advises on aboriginal and native customary rights in West Malaysia.
