Raymond T.C. Low

Raymond T.C. Low is a Partner at Shearn Delamore & Co., specializing in Employment Law. He advocates and advises on all matters relating to employment and industrial relations law, including judicial reviews, trade disputes, trade unions, industrial disputes, employment contracts, collective agreements, dismissals, employee misconduct, occupational health and safety laws, and data security and privacy law.

Raymond has appeared regularly at the Court of Appeal, High Court, Industrial Court, and Labour Court in Malaysia. Notable cases include successfully representing Britannia Brands Malaysia in a landmark case where the High Court and Court of Appeal ruled that a litigant has a right to counsel in Labour Court hearings; representing Swedish Motor Assemblies in a case that clarified that backwages for employees who have passed retirement age should be limited to the remaining months of service; and successfully representing Gulf Air in defending unfair dismissal claims by airport managers involved in human trafficking. He also represented Malaysia Airports in a trade dispute regarding a new shift pattern and acted for Burswood Limited in a case where the Court of Appeal endorsed the reduction of compensation where an employee had illegally retained company documents. He has advised on data protection in the banking, employment, and retail sectors, and conducted personal data protection audits.

Raymond holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Malaya and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2000. He is a member of the Malaysian Bar, the International Bar Association, and a Regional Leader of the Asia Pacific Member Engagement Committee of the Employment Law Alliance.
