Su Ann Kok

Su Ann Kok is a Senior Partner at Zain & Co., practicing in the Dispute Resolution department. She is principally involved in land acquisition matters, acting for both landowners and acquiring authorities, and has extensive experience in land‑related disputes including trespass and land fraud.

Su Ann also handles corporate litigation, including schemes of arrangement and capital reduction exercises, employment disputes (lay‑off, termination, retrenchment, and redundancy) with representation at the Industrial Court, and general civil litigation including landlord‑tenant disputes, contracts, tort, negligence, and commercial disputes. Notable matters include acting for a company where forged documents were discovered to have been filed with the Companies Commission of Malaysia as part of a design to sell and dispose of land; advising subsidiaries of a highway concessionaire on land acquisition for two major elevated expressway projects in the Klang Valley; acting for one of the world's largest oil palm plantation companies in a land reference concerning acquisition for a main water pipeline; representing a multinational land‑holding company in a land reference for the Sungai Buloh‑Kajang Line MRT project; successfully obtaining an increase in compensation of approximately 60% over the Land Administrator's award for a plantation landowner in Perak; and successfully defending a public university in a medical negligence suit at both the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Su Ann holds an LL.B (Hons) with First Class Honours from the University of London (1999). She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2001 and is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

She has been recommended in The Legal 500 Asia‑Pacific in Dispute Resolution (2018, 2020–2024) and serves as a member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Malaysian Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board.
