Wan Kai Chee

Wan Kai Chee is a Partner and Co-Head of the Firm's Financial Services Department at Rahmat Lim & Partners, practicing in the areas of capital markets, investment funds, private equity, FinTech, and mergers and acquisitions.

He has been involved in mergers, restructurings, schemes of arrangement and vestings, capital reductions, initial public offerings, take-overs, acquisitions, and other corporate exercises. Notable matters include acting for a Singapore-listed company in its acquisition of FinTech related assets in Malaysia; acting for J&T Global Express Limited in relation to Malaysian law for its initial public offering (IPO) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; and acting for a large China-based group in relation to its residential project in Malaysia. He also advises on foreign direct investment into Malaysia, joint venture/shareholder arrangements, commercial contracts, company and securities laws, fund and collective investment scheme formation, and Labuan and insurance laws.

Wan Kai Chee holds an LL.B. (Hons) from King's College London. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1998, as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2002, and is also a Barrister-at-Law of England & Wales (Lincoln's Inn, 1997).

He is recognised as Highly Regarded in Capital Markets by IFLR1000 and as a Leading Partner in Capital Markets by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. He is concurrently a partner in Allen & Gledhill, the firm's associate firm in Singapore.
