Aravind Kumarr

Aravind Kumarr is a Partner at Rahmat Lim & Partners, specializing in Dispute Resolution. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial litigation, cross‑border disputes, restructuring and insolvency, and international arbitration. He has successfully led numerous full trials, hearings, and appeals before the Malaysian courts and has appeared as counsel in high‑value disputes before the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

Aravind has handled complex cross‑border disputes, including acting for a New York‑based fund manager group in resolving a multi‑million USD investment dispute in Malaysia, acting for a Swiss luxury bespoke watch manufacturer in a contractual dispute with a foreign offshore corporation, and rendering a legal opinion on a novel point of Malaysian law for a legal action in the Singapore High Court. He is co‑author of “Commercial Conflict of Laws in Malaysia” published by Sweet & Maxwell, the first Malaysian practitioners' textbook on commercial conflict of laws, and co‑editor of the latest version of “Halsbury's Laws of Malaysia – Conflict of Laws” published by LexisNexis.

He holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of London and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2016. He ranked among the top graduates in Malaysia for the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP), earning the best graduate prize from his alma mater. Prior to joining Rahmat Lim & Partners, he founded his own firm and led it to recognition as a Notable Firm by Benchmark Litigation.
