Chen Lee Won

Chen Lee Won is the Head of Corporate Department at Rahmat Lim & Partners, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, securities laws and general commercial contracts.

She has represented clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including financial institutions, manufacturers, healthcare providers, oil and gas entities, private equity firms and sovereign funds, on domestic and cross-border transactions. Notable matters include advising Universal Robina Corporation on its acquisition of Munchy Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. for RM1.925 billion; advising Malayan Cement Berhad on its acquisition of 10 companies involved in cement and ready-mixed concrete businesses from YTL Cement Berhad for a total consideration of RM5.158 billion; and advising Grab on its acquisition of Uber Technologies Inc.'s Southeast Asian assets, which won multiple "M&A Deal of the Year" awards in 2019.

Lee Won holds an LL.B. (Hons) and a B.Com. from The University of Melbourne, and a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King's College London. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1995 and the Singapore Bar in 2011. She is concurrently a partner in Allen & Gledhill, the firm's associate firm in Singapore.

She is recognised as Highly Regarded in M&A by IFLR1000, as a Leading Individual in Corporate and M&A by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and in Corporate/M&A by Chambers Global/Asia-Pacific, where sources describe her as "really sharp and commercially savvy" and "diligent with prompt and detailed responses".
