Lai Zhen Pik

Lai Zhen Pik is a Partner in the Corporate/M&A, Energy, Natural Resources & Green Technology, and TMT Practice Groups at Shearn Delamore & Co., specialising in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, and cross‑border investments. She advises clients on foreign investments, private equity, securities offerings, infrastructure and technology projects, and regulatory compliance across a wide array of industries, including oil and gas, renewable energy, automotive, aviation, logistics, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Zhen Pik has acted as Malaysian counsel for TotalEnergies Holdings SAS on its USD1.71 billion acquisition of SapuraOMV Upstream Sdn Bhd; for DuPont in the merger of equals with Dow Chemical and the subsequent separation of Corteva Agriscience; for Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad on its joint venture with Alibaba Group's Cainiao Network for the KLIA Aeropolis DFTZ Park; for EastBridge Partners on its USD50 million Series B investment in SOCAR Malaysia; and for GEELY on its proposed acquisition of 49.9% equity in Proton Holdings and 51% equity in Lotus Advance Technology. She also regularly advises Chinese clients on acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances for both inbound and outbound transactions.

Zhen Pik holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Manchester, an LL.M from King's College London, and is a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln's Inn. She was called to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate & Solicitor in 2009 and is admitted to England and Wales. She is a member of the Malaysian Bar, the Corporate and Commercial Law Committee of the Malaysian Bar, and the International Bar Association.
