Pua Seng Yik

Pua Seng Yik is a Partner at Rahmat Lim & Partners, focusing on private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign investment, and general corporate and commercial law.

He regularly acts for private equity funds and institutional investors on M&A transactions across a wide range of industries, including education, retail and consumer, financial services, and manufacturing. He also advises foreign clients and firms on cross-border corporate transactions and restructurings. Notable transactions include advising Citibank Berhad as local counsel on the disposal of its consumer banking business to United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd.; advising KV Asia Capital on its acquisition and subsequent disposal of APIIT Education Group (comprising Asia Pacific University, APIIT and Asia Pacific Schools); and advising Intermediate Capital Group on its acquisition of TF Value-Mart Sdn. Bhd., a leading grocery retail operator.

Pua Seng Yik holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of London. He was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Lincoln's Inn) in 2014 and joined the firm as a pupil in the same year. He is a member of the firm's China Practice Group and is fluent in Mandarin.
