Teo Eu John

Teo Eu John is a Partner at Shearn Delamore & Co., specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. He focuses on public and private M&A, joint ventures, reorganisations, and general corporate advisory matters across industries including education, oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, and property.

Eu John has been involved in numerous notable transactions, including advising Saudi Aramco (through White & Case) on its US$7 billion investment and joint venture with Petronas in the RAPID project in Johor; acting as Malaysian counsel for Laureate Education, Inc. in the US$140 million sale of INTI Education Holdings to Hope Education Group; advising Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) on the restructuring and integration of 28 subsidiary companies into one US$11 billion business; advising Kadokawa Corporation on its acquisition of an 80% stake in Malaysia's Art Square Group; and acting for the shareholders of The Inside Scoop in the divestment of shares to Farm Fresh Berhad in 2023. He also acted as Malaysian counsel for United Technologies Corporation in its separation into three businesses, and as transaction counsel to Envictus International Holdings on the disposal of its shares and assets to Johnsonville Holding Inc. in 2023.

Eu John holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and a Certificate in Legal Practice. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2013. He is a member of the Malaysian Bar and the International Bar Association (IBA).
