Chan Weili

Chan Weili is a Partner in the Firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Rahmat Lim & Partners, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. Her practice encompasses M&A, take‑overs, joint ventures, foreign investments, and corporate and commercial transactions across financial services, aviation, energy and power, petrochemicals, e‑commerce, FinTech, manufacturing, real estate, and retail.

Weili also advises airlines, aircraft operators, lessors, and lessees on aviation matters, including registrations with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, aircraft leasing through the Labuan International Business & Financial Centre, aircraft mortgages, and the application of the Cape Town Convention under Malaysian laws. Notable transactions include advising CIMB Group Sdn. Bhd. on the MYR470.29 million divestment of its asset management joint venture stake with Principal Financial Group; advising the joint offerors on the conditional voluntary take‑over offer for Hovid Berhad; and advising Catalina Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd. as Malaysian counsel on its acquisition of indirect equity interest in reinsurance companies—Catalina's first in Asia.

She holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Reading (2007) and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2009.
