Mariza Azen Mat Rasip

Mariza Azen Mat Rasip is a Senior Partner at Zain & Co., practicing in the Real Estate Law and Banking department. She advises on banking (Islamic and conventional financing) and real estate matters involving sale, purchase, tenancies, leasing and sub‑leasing of property including estate lands, industrial lands, data centres, retail malls, hotels and resorts, hypermarkets, hospitals, and other commercial property. She also advises on joint venture transactions and property development transactions, and is often involved in large or complex corporate and commercial transactions where real estate or financing expertise is required.

Mariza has been involved in numerous high‑value and complex real estate transactions, including advising Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) on the disposal of two data centres in Cyberjaya with a combined transaction value exceeding RM700 million; advising Employees Provident Fund on the purchase and leaseback of Quill City Mall in Kuala Lumpur with a transaction value of approximately RM1.192 billion; advising PNB on the acquisition of One Exchange Square and 90 High Holborn properties in London for RM2.67 billion; advising PT Rajawali Corpora on the joint venture for the construction of the 6‑star The St. Regis Langkawi and the Langkawi International Convention Centre, with a project value exceeding RM400 million; and advising on the purchase and leaseback of the CX5 data centre project for RM520 million. She has also acted for a statutory body on the sub‑leasing of a ten‑storey commercial complex, and for the disposal of office buildings in Kuala Lumpur valued at RM141 million and RM92 million.

Mariza holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Sheffield (1993). She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1994, admitted as a Barrister‑at‑Law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, and called to the Malaysian Bar in 1995. She is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
