Rebecca Jeyanthi Selvaraj

Rebecca Jeyanthi Selvaraj is a Partner at Zain & Co., practicing in the Corporate group, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. She advises on foreign direct investments, M&A, joint ventures, and general corporate and commercial matters, with primary focus on the energy (oil and gas) and construction sectors. She also advises on corporate matters relating to employment.

Rebecca has advised Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas) on the acquisition and disposal of companies involved in the franchise food business, including holders of licence and franchising rights of well-known food chains in Malaysia and Singapore. She has been extensively involved in advising, reviewing, and drafting various commercial agreements for Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) and its related companies in relation to the RAPID project in Pengerang, including port operatorship, site services, ICT services, cost or asset transfer agreements, industrial gases transportation, park rules, and utility supply contracts. She also advised Petronas on the acquisition of the remaining interest in Malaysian Refining Company Sdn Bhd from Phillips 66. Rebecca advises PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd on the development of the KL118 tower at Warisan Merdeka, a projected 118‑storey iconic building valued at approximately RM5 billion, involving extensive use of FIDIC suite contracts. She has also advised on joint venture developments, including mixed commercial and residential centres and resort and convention centre projects, and regularly drafts and reviews Malaysian employment contracts for clients across various industries.

Rebecca holds an LL.B (Hons) with Distinction from the University of Malaya (2003), where she was on the Dean's List from 2000 to 2002, and an LL.M with Merit from King's College, University of London (2007). She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2004 and is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
